Nu School Hive Tyrant

Painted July/August. After giving my entire collection away, thought I'd paint up a couple of new ones for old time's sake.

Couldn't think of an original or effective colour scheme so used the bog standard "white" colour scheme off the box art. Warmed the white bits up with generous lashing of Warlock Purple (my 15 year old pot seems like more of a wash than a colour and can be used really well for washes) Base is detailed with styrene sheet.

Flanked him with a couple of Garg's. Used to be lethal back during my second edition days - asked the guy in the store whether they still had the "fly high" rule and he looked at me like he had no idea wtf I was talking about. Would like to bring them up to a full squad.

Also got a chance to try out those new washes with these. I can't reccommend the new washes enough. They really do everything you used to wish ink did, flowing into the recesses and drying exactly how you want it to. I expect a lot more painter will be able to produce quality looking shading with much less effort now.

These miniatures survived the move from the UK to Canada without a single scratch, wrapped up in paper and boxed!
